The T-95 tank, also known as Object 195, was a prototype tank developed by the Russian Defense Ministry in the early 2000s. It was intended to be a replacement for the aging T-72 and T-90 tanks. However, the project was ultimately cancelled due to high costs and technical difficulties.
The T-95 was designed with advanced armor protection, including composite, reactive, and electro-optic armor, which made it extremely difficult to penetrate. It was also equipped with a 152mm smoothbore cannon and an automatic loader, which could fire a wide range of ammunition types including guided missiles.
The tank had a crew of three, including a commander, a gunner, and a driver, and featured advanced electronic systems including a fire-control system, night vision equipment, and satellite navigation. The T-95 was also designed to be air transportable, which would have made it highly effective in rapid deployment scenarios.
Despite its advanced features, the T-95 never made it into production due to a number of technical problems and rising costs. The project was eventually cancelled in 2010, and the Russian Army turned its attention to developing other tank designs such as the T-14 Armata.
